Festive Carp

Today we will prepare a festive carp. This recipe is specially made for the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year).

On this holiday, many different dishes are served on the table, but they are distinguished by the fact that these dishes must be sweetish.


On the holiday of Rosh Hashanah, it is customary to wish a good and sweet year, and therefore, it is impossible to have sour or spicy dishes on the table.


We will cook Karp, and we will need:

Carp - 1 pc. (1.5-2kg)

Apples - 3 pcs.

Raisins - 100g.

Onion - 2 pcs.

Dates - 6-7 pcs.

Date honey - 50-70g.

Bee honey - 50-70 gr.

Olive oil - 50-70 gr.

Flour - 1 tbsp. a spoon

Water - 200 ml.


Recipe:

1. Cut the onion into cubes and fry in vegetable oil, adding raisins for 5-7 minutes, until the onion is golden.

2. Cut the apples in half and cut into thin half rings.

3. We lay out the apples on a dish in which we will bake the carp, in an even layer.

4. Pour a layer of fried onions with raisins on the apples.

5. Thoroughly wash the carp, clean it from scales and fins. We make cross-shaped cuts on it and salt the fish from all sides.

6. Now let's prepare the sauce. Put dates and bee honey in a saucepan and start heating them over low heat. Add olive oil and when it boils, add 1 tbsp. a spoonful of flour Flour should be stirred in a sweet solution, there may be small lumps, it's not scary. Add 200 ml. water and bring to a beating. Beat the finished mixture with a blender, it can be submersible or in a glass.

7. Place the salted fish on a dish with apples, onions and raisins and pour over the sauce.

8. Add dates and send to the oven, heated to 185 ° C, for 35 minutes.
